Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of our local Hood County seniors 60 years of age and older by alleviating social isolation, loneliness, and fighting food insecurity.
Our vision is to offer life enrichment to a broader senior base, increase awareness of our programs, and alleviate food insecurity within our senior population to enhance the quality of life of as many local seniors as possible. We seek to increase the Center footprint to accommodate projected growth so we may serve those who served us and can no longer serve themselves.

Our History
1977 – Hood County Senior Center was comprised of a few local women who served seniors warm meals and friendly smiles at the Shanley House and delivered a handful of meals to isolated community members.
1996 – The Center outgrew its space and moved to the American Legion to serve more local seniors as the need continued to grow.
1999 – The Center moved to E. Moore Street where staff and volunteers continued serving warm meals with a friendly smile to clients at the Center and delivering meals to isolated and homebound adults 60 years of age and older across Hood County.
The Center has been dedicated to serving warm meals to homebound and isolated older adults and offering life enriching activities for 48 years!
